Despicable Me

Went to Causeway Point’s Cathay Cineplex to watch Despicable Me with hubby & Zeze ytd~ Zeze enjoyed it… laughing at the clumsy & very entertaining minions. Gru’s minions, that is. Hubby & I thought it was a not-bad movie~ The ending definitely touched me. It’s definitely worth a watch in the cinema!

Updates on life – May 2010

I know nobody reads this blog anymore… And that nobody reads anybody else’s blog anymore… So… I thought this’ll be a nice place to put down my memories in words. Like how I used to write diaries in primary school. A couple of months back me & hubby were reading through them and found them quite naive and hilarious. Like how I’ll fancy someone and then fancy someone else 2 weeks later. Haha… Typical of a primary school girl I guess.

I’m a reminiscing person. I like to think back on good (and bad) stuff that happened in my life and that always (ALWAYS) allows me to cherish what I have now and what I went through to get it. I have an amazing husband (albeit his temperament gets on my nerves once in a while, but nobody’s perfect) and a very mischievous little boy whom I used to shower all my time and care. When time came that he could run & jump & talk in complete sentences, hubby’s been his playmate ever since. I love to watch them play and wrestle with each other, it makes me feel very very blessed to have this little family. (Not to mention hubby takes up more & more responsibilities to take care of this home & family ever since I took on a job that drains me more than I expected.) So… Yup… He’s an amazing man who has been by my side since 7 years ago.

Job-wise, I am now in events management! My first permanent job since graduation! Nowhere, and I MEAN NOWHERE in life have I ever thought that I will end up in this industry. I graduated with a chemistry degree and thereafter resolutely refused to let myself end up in a lab where I do not have an inch of interest in. I find myself lucky, because I actually enjoy what I am doing. I get to know people, get to see things, get to travel, get to open up, forcing myself to let go more & more of my reservations when I interact with other people. I thought I was proficient in IT more than the average joe, but now I am even better. I always seek to learn more and more Excel functions because I’m a lazy person, and when functions get the job done easier and faster, why not? Not to mention the very lively bunch of colleagues and the cosy office I sit in everyday. (Did I mention I’m the closest to the pantry?)

I feel so blessed now. Very very blessed. I love my family and I want to strive in my work. I want to do better. I want to be more efficient… Just like Jasmine! (that’s my boss)

Well… some other minor updates… I have shifted back to Woodlands and my little boy is now in K1. I am thinking of letting him join weekend courses like phonics etc. Hubby has a new desktop that allows him to play his need-alot-of-requirements games which takes up alot of his time. He’s also hooked on regularly feeding his fishes on Fishville and upgrading his hotel in Hotel City. (-_-“) Shouldn’t have introduced it to him. And his ogling at the bubble tea shop staff is making me come up with a resolution not to drink bubble tea anymore. (At least not at home.)

Too long have I not written anything in here. Written too much! Hoho… I need to get my sleep… Which reminds me… Hubby says to start dieting and exercising tomorrow… I seriously want to slim down now… I WANT TO. Because being this fat is starting to scare me. Goodness. Well, good luck to moi!

I know the title sounds dumb. It sounds like the old game I used to play: Where is Wally? Anyways I played around with Google Earth to find out where exactly hubby was going. I thought Brunei was in the same piece of land as Vietnam/Thailand… Well now I know it isn’t. Damn my geography is bad. Anyways now I know why they chose to come back to Singapore after leaving Brunei, before going to Vietnam that is. HAISH…

Singapore->Brunei->Singapore->Vietnam->Surabaya->Singapore.

WHOLE 6 LONG WEEKS OF F**KING SAILING WHICH IS MAKING MY LIFE MISERABLE. ARGH I do hate hubby’s job. Hate hate hate. But frankly speaking I’m kinda resigned at the moment… ‘Cept for certain moments when I have relapses of heartaches… I mean seriously there’s nothing much I can do ‘cept get on with life. Like I said I wrote numbers on every calendar in my possession to countdown to 19th September… And it’s currently on 29. Which makes me feel better than when it was still 30+… JIAYOU QINGLIN!!!

Weekend was slack but damn irritating at the same time. Coz the little boy kept wanting my attention. So once in a while it just got on my nerves. The presence of him also emphasized the fact that hubby wasn’t around to share the load… So… HAISH…

Long time no post.

Been a long time since I updated my blog. Now in office with nothing to do except updating some excel file which ain’t at the top of anybody’s priority list. Hoho.

Anyway can’t expect much from a job that pays such a pathetic wage.

Hopefully I can get a job I like asap. Hoping that Science Centre wants me despite being able to start only in October. I thought the interview was okay. But I guess anybody would be wary of letting a parent work weekends since they tend to want to spend time with their child(ren). But I really don’t mind weekends! Imagine doing shows in Science Centre! Wootz.

Some updates from recently:

Graduated from NUS on the 8th July 2009.
Slacked all the way since my last final paper till 26th July 2009.
Joined my current temp position on the 27th July 2009.
Hubby left for sailing on the 7th August 2009. (Which sucks like hell, I’m telling you.)

Speaking of hubby leaving for Brunei, Vietnam & Indonesia, this sailing seemed quite high-profile, as stated by hubby. There was a send-off ceremony and all family & friends were allowed onboard the LST for a tour. Cool huh? Yeah I toured the ship, and saw hubby’s cabin and workplace. Saw the guns that he manages too. It was the first time I sent hubby off for a sailing, and the consequences were bad. Very bad. Previously when he left for a sailing trip, I would see him leave from home. So the feeling of him leaving was pretty mild. But seeing him on the ship’s flight deck and the ship gradually sailing away... The feeling is overwhelmingly bad. And I’m still feeling it now. Then there’s also the fact that the duration this time is longer.

That’s why, I’m now counting down to the day he returns. Putting numbers on every calendar I can find to remind me of the decreasing number of days before he’s back. I miss my hubby.

Penang Trip & thereafter!

Hubby keeps saying he has Penang withdrawal symptoms. Haha he’s super cute.

DAY 1

We left in the late afternoon on Saturday 30th May. Was picked up by a private cab that my parents hired to bring us to Senai Airport @ Johor Bahru. Was pleasantly surprised to find the cab driver super handsome can! Hahahaha…. Even my sisters also thought so! Unfortunately we noticed a wedding ring on his hand! Hohoho… Anyway had dinner there. Then took a domestic Airasia flight to Penang. It was hubby & zeze’s first flying experience! They were less scared than me loh. I always have a problem with the take-off. Tsk.

Anyways reached pretty late. 10 plus pm ba. Went straight to Ean Ee’s place to unpack and rest for the next day (busy busy!)

DAY 2

Woke up early to head off to Tze Ming’s grandfather’s mansion. Yup it’s a MANSION. Crazy big house. Everybody can park their cars in the yard outside loh. Anyway so the bride & groom arrived and the tea ceremony went underway. Most of the time we juz stood around and conversed amongst ourselves coz there were MANY ppl we didn’t know. Had buffet lunch there. Lots of curry. Kinda inconsiderate if u ask me coz what about the children??? There was only 2 dishes there that Zeze could eat. Anyway he LOVED the chicken drumsticks.

Went Sunshine Shopping Centre that afternoon. Seems like the old hypermarket is no more and they only sell wholesale stuff there now. We didn’t even bother to go to the old building.

Went back after shopping. Girls started getting busy for the wedding dinner. Bathing, styling hair, putting on makeup, dressing up… etc etc. Our pretty photos are in Facebook! Haha.

Moi Heok kim last minute asked me if Zeze could be the flower boy @ the dinner loh. Made me really nervous coz Zeze is super timid loh. Luckily he had Ngee Tian beside him. He & ngeetian practically stuck together for the entire trip whenever possible. gosh.

DAY 3

Woke up really late coz previous day really too many things le. Went for brunch @ Choong Nam. Rambutan trees spotted on the way so we plucked quite alot. The highlight – HOKKIEN MEE & CURRY MEE. Lots & lots of pig’s blood. My fave man.

Afternoon went for paintball @ Batu Maung. My sisters & I din join in. That includes Zeze of coz. Hubby went for it though. He came out really fast loh, after his 100 rounds finished. Must have shot too fast. He kena paint on his ear. Haha.

After tat drove to Sri Pantai Motel for dinner. After dinner we just sat by the beach and enjoyed the various cocktails that JJ churned out. They were really nice! Even the aunties liked them.

DAY 4

Went to Penang Bowl. For bowling, obviously. Super inconsistent results man. Must train on my skill le. Haha. We reached quite late so I only played 1 round. We had lunch there too. Zeze finished the entire plate of spaghetti meant for 1 adult! Gosh he must be too active in Penang.

Went to buy the famous Beh Teh Saw & Tau Sah Piah for ourselves and family in SG.

Went off to Penang Hill after that. Bought muah chee from an uncle on the roadside. Also had some Lor Bak and char kway teow @ a nearby coffee shop coz the earliest train ticket up the hill was 1.5 hours away.

Even though the funicular is a signature transport up the hill, but I tell u, it’s really slow and super squeezy & inefficient. So unless if they upgrade the transport up the hill arbo I wun go back. Anyways it was really cool up Penang Hill. Got my henna there on my ankle. Cost me RM15. Really pretty tho. Pictures on FB! My sister was really disgusted by the hanging dozens of spiders though. Lolz.

After that went to Gurney Plaza to shop. Was surprised to find that Gurney Plaza was owned by Capitaland. If u dunno, that’s the same company that owns Jurong Point and IMM. After that went Gurney Drive to eat. LOTS OF GOOD FOOD. Hubby super enthu there man. Lolz. He bought lots of food to eat loh. Lok lok, BBQ stuff, grilled stuff… GOSH.

After that went 99 (coffee shop) to gather with the rest of the family. Hubby had some beer there and Zeze ate wan ton mee for supper.

DAY 5

Woke up and did some last minute packing. Prayed coz it was one of the uncle’s death anniversary. Went off to Penang International Airport and returned the rented car. Had McDonalds for lunch. Boarded our Malaysia Airlines flight. Zeze finished another serving of spaghetti on the flight loh. Arrived in Changi and hubby found out that flights from Malaysia had no allowance for duty-free alcohol. Boohoo.

Had some Starbucks coffee and pie @ Changi before bringing Zeze back to nanny. Super tired by the time we reached home and started unpacking.

That’s when hubby started having his Penang withdrawal symptoms. Lolz.

Well I enjoyed my trip! Hoping to go back soon again!

I just got myself one recently and am excited coz of all the pros to it. One most important factor – I will no longer be contributing bloody tampons/pads to the landfills/incinerators. X JAPAN WORLD TOUR!!

I was so so so so so so SURPRISED to see the X Japan Concert @ Hong Kong earlier this 2009 on YOUTUBE! Super glad to see them performing live together again!!! Super high concert man. If I got the money I sure go! My goosebumps all came out when I watched the video… It was soo… I dunno… Just makes you feel really moved. They included Hide’s previous live footages as if he was in that concert, I guess it’s to show that Hide will always be with X Japan.

I remember the documentary on Hide that I watched with my family after he passed away more than 10 years ago… It was very touching. From then on X Japan’s music has always been the nicest music on my list. Anyway for the world tour seems like Sugizo is taking the place of Hide as of now. One of my favourite songs: TEARS. Enjoy.

Very lazy to blog leh, nowadays. Haish. I have to stop my bad habit of non-stop sighing. I read that every time u sigh, your good luck slips away. EEK!

Anyway went GEK2507 lab today. Didn’t like the tutor. KUKU tutor thought we were dumb by explaining some really useless stuff. The problem was the f**king question loh. I prefer the other one with the specs coz at least he bothered to explain that what they wanted was the portfolio value. “Percentage gain/loss?” SUPER VAGUE CAN! How the hell I know what you want?!

Went for transition metals lecture after that. Dad sms-ed me in the middle of lecture asking for the molecular weight & gas density of propylene. –_-“

After having lunch and crapping @ the sci canteen, went to browse the vanity fair. for some reason a certain person can’t seem to stop sticking to us. attractive forces eh? like homeless soul liddat siaz. EEKS. HAHAHA. I really don’t get weird and sound people.

Anyways went IMM with shuhui & wenq~~ still couldn’t find the cardigan I wanted!! ARGH…. nvm… tomorrow go jurong point with mom & sis and see if I can find what I want.

Anyway I’m so envious of my siblings!!! They have new wardrobes that are 2.3 metres tall and 1 of the doors is a entire mirror on the outside!!! Can you imagine a full length mirror measuring 236 x 50 cm ?! SHEESH! I don’t even have a decent big mirror that I can see my entire self in!

And also, I realised I can’t eat those mini-steamboats with really big flames at the bottom, those that you can buy at food courts and kopitiams. For some reason the gas of the burning fuel stings my eyes and it hurts real bad. SHUCKS. Can’t even enjoy a good mini-steamboat.

My conclusion: Life sucks sometimes. Get used to it.

I remember during dunno sec 3 or sec 4 i helped to choreograph a routine for the Teachers’ Day concert audition. then dunno who asked me why i used so much strength during practice. i was kinda dumbfounded coz I was thinking… u have to use strength for the dance to look great wad. frankly speaking I also dunno where I got the idea from. i juz danced the way I did. I may lack f**king creativity but at least I got no 身体不协调的问题. So… 找我跳舞吧！！ O.O

Why am I blogging about V day on the 15th? Because Zeze very zho-teng on the 14th. Lolz. Yeah kinda diff to enjoy 二人世界 with the notti little one ard so hubby promised me we'll celebrate it today. I'll blog about it again tomorrow! :D

Anyway, last week was the angbao draw! And both my dad and hubby won some cash! Yeah~~~ So we had treats! It was also my bro's birthday, so here's his cake!

Yeah 19 le sho fast. But his temperament still abit kuku.

On to the feast! Went MOF's Emperor Q at West Coast Plaza for dinner! Really really nice food! I recommend it to all! Pictures!!

Looks very scrumptious right! Their soups are super-duper delicious and so are their dim sum etc etc.! Go try ah!

These two forever provoking each other. Kids will be kids. Tsk.
West Coast Plaza! My family's favourite place to eat! (Yes that's Subway.) Please don't ask my why there are soooooo many good stuff in here and yet the traffic still abit screwed. I really hope their business takes flight! =D

Time is passing... Quickly?

I dun wanna ans tat question... haha... I just randomly typed something for the title.

Anyway went Chinatown last week with the Chias! Uploaded photos on facebook.

I WANNA figure out how to shoot vibrant looking photos! I went and searched sample photos for my camera model on the net and i realised other ppl managed to take great looking photos, unlike me! despite me trying all the settings available on my camera... Just what am I doing wrong?? SHEESH! Need to ask wenq le.

Anyway back to the Chinatown thingy. Actually I was at Raffles, coz I needed to be there for an appt. Then hubby suggested we went Chinatown from there. By FOOT. At first I was really appalled, coz I hate physically exhausting myself. But he assured me it was quite near.
Yeah after tat I realised "quite near" meant walking the entire boat quay (as shown above) and almost the entire length of Chinatown just to get to a DESSERT STORE he insisted me on trying. O.O

Well tried their 杨枝甘露 (mango+pamelo), water chestnut cake and walnut paste.

Really good stuff I must say. But I will never be able to differentiate between really good mango paste and not-bad mango paste, so pls dun ask me. same for the other pastes. but for the water chestnut cake, I actually prefer the one at 记得吃 (which you can find at level 3 of Jurong Point 2). So yea. That I can differentiate.

Haha this is really cute. This was at Hong Lim Complex, where Zeze refused to proceed in the same direction as us. Hubby had to resort to the "owner-calling-the-dog" tactic.

We even went past this. Amazing right?

Hahahahahaa... I was so shocked when the Taiwanese (as usual) took on a jap manga and turned it into drama! Guess what - It's SKIP BEAT! Hahahahaa...

Yes, and it stars Jerry Yan and Ariel Lin! Ariel is obviously Kyoko... And Jerry is... Well I hate to admit it but he's Tsuruga Ren. I really think his looks don't suit Ren's character. Anyway I'll watch it and see how. Well, anticipating it! :D

Wow... Another year already... SO FAST! It's now the OX year! (My mom says she can't understand why people can't just say "cow" instead of "ox" but I guess "ox" sounds nicer. Haha.)

Anyway my family went to Penang to celebrate CNY again while I got stuck in singapore, AGAIN. It's super sianz loh, coz I haven been back to Penang for CNY since I had Zeze. It's all the Navy's fault la, coz hubby can't take overseas leave. DAMN THEM.

Anyway, what to do, celebrate with in-laws again loh. But at least still collecting angbaos, for Zeze and sometimes for us both too. I was glad tho, that it was only for CHU 1, coz I was super tired after spending the whole day out. Rested on CHU 2 and even went JP, despite knowing most shops weren't open. Had Starbucks for the caffeine and even went Toys R Us to get Zeze a toy with his angbao money. Realised that they had v little stock (dunno izzit becoz clearing stock or China suppliers not working.) so we bought him a Plug&Play game controller from Fairprice Xtra instead.

Anyway went JP just now to watch the Wedding Game and it was quite entertaining. I would say you need to watch it in the cinema coz watch at home alone like quite sianz. Fann & Chris is soooo compatible and cute! Haha...

I know it has already been quite some since the incidents where the Singapore Flyer stopped moving and all, but I came across it again and wanted to highlight the incidents again. I really think those people back then were really poor thing. Can you imagine, if I brought Zeze with me, and we were stranded for 7 hours?! Even if Zeze not there, what if I suddenly stomachache, need the toilet, or something?! GOODNESS. Tsk...

In July 2008 the Flyer was stopped because of a minor fault in the braking system.[5]
On 4 December 2008, the wheel was stuck for nearly five hours due to bad weather and some 70 people were stranded.[5]

Sianz... School started le... I was thoroughly enjoying my holidays loh... Sobz. So far okay... I really don't like the phy chem lecturer tho... He's like talking to himself and he really loves repeating himself. He just goes on and on and on... And I have so many question marks above my head I feel like strangling him. -_-". And what's with the "God gives us this, God gives us that..." thingy? Aren't we doing chemistry? Sheesh.

First lab was okay... Did computational chemistry... Heng we got the fast computer so we ended pretty early. Kinda scared of analytical lab after hearing from ping abt their lab. O_O

Today was super tired... Woke up earlier to pass nanny the family photo that Zeze's teacher needed. Anyway he destroyed one of nanny's CNY lanterns again. (-_-") During lecture, I finished half the mentos tube in under 2 hours. Gosh, that's bad. Haha.

Well, on a final note, I'm super nervous about next Saturday!!! SOBZ. Somebody gimme some tranquillizers. HAISH. I was seriously considering withdrawing but that would be unfair to the other audition contestants. I shall not give up halfway again. JIAYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went out with friends, auditioned for Talentquest '09, coincidentally met NUS chem ppl @ MOE interview, kept crashing JP2 blah blah blah... I wan my life to always be this fruitful! Yay!

Recently theres this stage performance at the old wing of Jurong Point which shows Suzie & the Polar Bears. I saw it TWICE already loh, haha... Zeze too.

That's not Suzie. Haha.. I din take the pic when Suzie & the bears came out.

Anyway JP is damn crowded nowadays la. Yesterday went for lunch & shopping with yanz, wenjie & xihui~ Great harvest for me, lolz. Yanz managed to get a set of clothes too. Went for dessert at 记得吃 too... Not bad... But I have a slight disagreement putting mango and 龟苓膏 together. Next time will try some of their other desserts. =D

And, ping is pulling me to Talentquest '09! I've always wanted to try stuff like this but never had the courage to. This time I decided to go thru with it and not give up so easily like I always do. Jiayou!! Hehe.

It won some awards in Film Festivals and is nominated for 9 awards in the Golden Horse Awards 2008. It is due to be released in Singapore November 27, 2008. I think it's worth a watch. This isn't my first time saying it. It's a fact his job sucks and I don't think anybody would like being in there unless if they are high-ranking officers or shits like that. Anyway he has f*cking irregular working hours and and goes missing randomly for entire days for guard duty. Sailing is like the biggest shit in his job lah. Occasionally sail for 2-3 days to the middle of the ocean (I know, sounds stupid right?) and back. If worst, 1 month away to Taiwan or some other shit. Luckily he's not in Iraq with his old ship loh. Idiotic.

Well, from another angle, if it wasn't becoz of Zeze he wouldn't have had to sign on anyway. I still wanna thank him for bringing home the dough and sticking it out for us. For allowing me to complete my studies and do what I want to do. He has always been supportive of me from the day I knew him and I'm really really grateful for that. Despite everything we've went through, I'm glad we don't already feel like a really old couple. Haha. Today while I digging through my stuff I saw our marriage certificate and I smiled when I saw both our names on it. Common, that was the happiest moment of my life! ^_^

Yeapz it's finally back!!!! After months of getting the "no maps due to legal issues" business, I AM FINALLY LOOKING AT STREETDIRECTORY MAPS AGAIN!

Mwahahahaaa... Super happy. Coz I love streetdirectory to bits. It has so much more features than that stupid SLA MAP website and more trustable than Google Maps.

Well, it was relaunched on 1st Aug 2008 (why din anybody tell me?!) and I hope people like SBS transit who was using its maps to show bus routes will continue using it. :D

I'm getting a headache here. Today I received an email from a person with the email domain "@rocketmail.com". Yes call me old, because I actually know this email domain from way back when the internet was picking up pace in Singapore.

Anyway, a quick search on Google showed that "@rocketmail.com" was just one of the 2 new email domains implemented by Yahoo!, the other one being "@ymail.com". For one thing, I will NOT even think about getting these 2 email domains, because, like any other Yahoo! ".com" email domains, they do not provide POP3 access from 3rd-party email clients. (Unless if you pay for it, duh!)

Now that I think about it I have no idea why I even have my "@yahoo.com.sg" when I have two Gmail accounts. Maybe coz it got stuck and it would be another arduous journey to change my "default" email to another one.

Well I'll think about it. In the meantime, yeapz, just to inform you Yahoo! has two new email domains: "@rocketmail.com" & "@ymail.com" !

They are a pair of twins from Singapore. Yes you did not read wrongly. Two 16-year-old gals from Singapore who are now based in Taiwan and I don't promote people for no reason. They are seriously talented. I first saw them on 康熙来了 dancing. From their image I thought they were just two cutie-pies who would dance like 王心凌 Cyndi, but I was proved to be sooo wrong. In 康熙来了 though, they did not sing much so I gathered their dancing overpowered their singing skills. Again in 模范棒棒堂，I was proved sooo wrong! They had good vocals! My blogging frequency sure is getting fewer by the week. Haha.

Recently hubby's getting stuck on the Initial D arcade machines. He bought a license card from it and has been trying to beat the game ever since. (-_-") Since I usually accompany him, I'll sometimes challenge him to a race or two. When he first started out I'll usually win him (coz fundamentally I have a higher IQ than him. Lolx.) I got really delighted at the Irohazaka course because I turn at the hairpin curves better than him. (He begged me to teach him how to do it.) But he's quite good now, and I'm not improving (since I don't practice) hence I rarely win him now. Did I mention that I can win him at the bball hoops machines too? Wahahaa... And I killed him in archery too. I'll like to try archery again though... It was really fun seeing hubby miss the target entirely. LoLx! *evil me*

Speaking of IQs, everytime I achieve at something that he can't, no matter how big or small, I can't help but tell him this: "我是用智慧在过人生。" Hahahaa... The only part of my life when this didn apply was when I met him and all that happened after that. That was when my heart ruled over my head. Till now, when dealing with him, my heart still rules over my head. Which is a good thing, in some ways. At least I don't have to mull over so much about certain disagreements or unhappiness between us. Which is what sustains our marriage and that's why I think that the chances of us falling into the divorce group is pretty slim. ^_^

Anyway! Attended Jon's 21st birthday party yesterday at the HomeTeamNS club at BB. Saw many many people whom I have not seen in a long time! Hehe... It had been a long time since I gathered with my JC classmates, hence it was quite refreshing after I warmed up to the event. Guess I'm not as anti-social as I thought I was... I think I've been stagnant too long le... Stuck with hubby and Zeze too long le... AIYA.

My Birthday!

(Apologies but I'm gonna blog in detail about this day, considering how RARELY i get such treatment from the ever bo xim lang.)

Hahahaa hubby very funny this year. Probably coz it's my 21st birthday, so I kept pressuring him that he MUST do something, unlike previous years where he just conveniently "forgot" or something...

So weeks before I already kept confirming with him that he was INDEED planning something. Knowing him for more than 6 years, I knew he couldn't keep a secret, so he ended up telling me his itinerary the week before. It didn't matter to me, but he did tell me that there was still something he wasn't telling me.

Then, 2 days before my birthday was his duty day, so he assumed he would have a half day off on the next day, which was the day before my birthday, giving him time to do whatever he was still hiding from me. End up, he din get his half day off, and hence I was in full view of whatever he did after he got back home. It was super obvious that he was gonna bake, after I saw the cake moulds and everything. I told him that. He said he didn't have a choice and was sorry. Even though I knew he was baking, I did NOT know what exactly it was that he was baking, so I kept shooting at him to shut up to make sure he din tell me.

Here comes the funny part. He then asked me if we should bring it over to my family since he didn't think we would be able to finish it. I told him I didn't like the idea, since I only wanted to celebrate it with him, and anyway it might not suit their tastebuds. He then blurted out, "They don't like cheesecake meh?" My eyes narrowed and glared at him. Realization hit him and he went "oh shit!"
I started growling at him in frustration "I told you not to tell me!!!"

In the end I even helped him make my own birthday cake! Since I already knew. Haish. Haha but nvm, the process was fun.

My birthday was as planned. Took off on that day. Woke up and got wished happy birthday by hubby (and kissed of course :P). Slacked for awhile at home till lunchtime then off we went to Jurong Point. Went to the new "Shokutsu 10 Osaka" street for lunch at Kuishin-Bo. Hubby enjoyed that meal more than I did, considering I don't like sashimi and don't really enjoy sushi. But other than that it was a nice meal. We then went to watch The Dark Knight. It was a great movie, but the plot was kinda sadistic. I bought myself a new sweater at FOX after that. :D Strolled at JP for awhile before we finally decided that we were getting tired. Went home to nap. Turned out the nap went way past dinnertime and past my birthday too. Too lethargic I guess. We both woke up in the wee hours of the morning to try the cake and play comp... Since we slept the entire night already... Haha and then next day it was work as usual!

I loved my birthday this year. Hubby actually bothered to celebrate it with me! Hehe. And did I mention his present is a SAMSUNG COLOUR LASER PRINTER! Sho happy. 謝謝你，老公！

While many of my peers are still comtemplating their future paths after graduation. I have already fixed mine. I don't know if that's good or bad... Good that it's my passion, not good that I'm scared I'll not excel in that area... Well, try my best, huh? I know of really bad teachers... I'm definitely better than them. Haha. Aiyo, how can compare like that...

Yeapz I'm gonna teach. I've always loved teaching... Be it my siblings, tutees or whoever. Telling ppl stuff they didn't know, seeing their interested expressions when they've learned something new. Okay, I'm deluding myself, chemistry is not THAT interesting but heck, I WILL make it interesting. Lolz. What with carbons, hydrogens, covalent bonds and stuff like that... Okay I admit it sounds boring... Okay let's leave this at that. Haha...

I am positively sure that I'm not cut out for honours, so, I'll probably just get a PASS degree, most probably can't even get a CREDIT on it... That's uber disgusting. Urgh.

Anyway, I'm going to NIE next year... Most probably lah, unless if they reject me for some reason... Nah don't wanna scare myself. Then, I'm hoping they throw me somewhere really near, like my old school, JSS! It's just like, few bus stops away loh, not that I like to squeeze with my students, but what the heck. I'll probably have my own car by then... That's a nice thought... Hahaa... Hubby said he'll quit his job at the end of 2009... By then I would have already gotten my salary for a couple months... Should be okay till he finds another job... Then it's double-income, baby! Definitely can afford a drivable car. Lolz. See how lah.

At work I always use my english name because it's simpler for colleagues to recognize, remember and call me. And also for customers/suppliers to remember me. Hence for my Goody Books thingy, I also use my english name, easier for customers to call me by! I used so much of my english name during the holidays that I even thought of adding it to my IC... Then, I realised I had to amend my malaysian documents too if I wanted to do that. So mafan. Suanz le. I'll just have to switch between the two depending on the other party. Haha.

Anyway, my dear friends, many of you call me QingLin. Please continue doing so. I prefer my chinese name to my english name. English name is for convenience's sake. Only acquaintances, customers, colleagues etc. may call me Sherine. Haha, yeah, FYI.

Coz guess what, while I was at her place looking after Zeze, when I wasn't looking, Zeze called 999!!!! I got the shock of my life when an officer called back and reprimanded me. Really idiot loh! Heng nothing siaz... He only said they'll send an advice letter and if it happens again, we are liable to a $5000 fine. (-_-") Scared me half to death. I quickly placed the phone on a higher shelf so he's less accessible to it. Scolded him and made him repeat every 10 mins "cannot play with the telephone". Hope he'll remember it. Tsk.

Well today is Monday, and hubby is on duty. I'm going to be alone at home tonight, and I have to get through another working day before I can see my cute husband. (bleahz u.)

Anyway I got back my Fujitsu lappy yesterday! Super happy. Really depressed without my comp... I melted the keyboard keys 1 week ago, so I had to bring it to Funan to service since their other service centres were not accessible outside my working hours.

Want to know what happen? I spilled my herbal tea on the keyboard after I frantically reached over to the desktop Zeze was using coz he was clicking on the wrong things again... And I took my newly-bought hair dryer and proceeded to dry my keyboard (after shutting down my lappy of coz). I think I placed the hair dryer too near and it got really hot... Coz when the hot air passed over half a row of keys they all melted and became deformed, then detached themselves from the bottom and dropped out. Amazing right???

Haha... Obviously, such a case, the warranty is useless since I killed the keyboard myself, hence I had to pay a freaking $50 (w/o GST hoh!) for a new keyboard. Sadz.

Anyway yesterday night was nanny's chinese birthday, so we went to a Chinese restaurant at West Coast CC. I felt really weird there coz we were the only locals there loh... The rest were all China ppl! The dishes were obviously China food... And they were quite nice 'cept for the soup, which was white and slightly milky... So weird... We weren't used to it at all. Not bad for a meal... You guys can try if you wan authentic chinese food!

I sincerely feel for all victims of these horrible natural disasters... I felt like shit when I saw the photos of the children piled up under debris... After being a mom, whenever I see anything touching regarding children I always wanna cry, whether happy or sad... Well I pathetically donated USD10 to Myanmar, while my mom is givin a S$100... She's amazing. No matter what, I hope everybody alive will live on with hope and courage, and most importantly, love. Last weekend was Mother's Day!

Went Dragon Gate at Harbourfront for buffet dinner with my family last Friday for my mom's birthday. Yeah her birthday always nearly falls on Mother's Day. My dad had secretly passed a birthday cake to the restaurant staff and they took it out after we had finished eating. Really tootz becoz we were really full so we told them not to open it. Hahaa.

Then hubby brought me to Ajisen last Sunday. Really coincidence lor... The staff lead us to our table, den a little while later, they led kangwei and his mom to the table next to ours. Yesh it's tay kang wei. Hahaa. 真巧。

Yesterday hubby went basketballing with his fren sze ming. I tagged along with zeze. Still remember when we were still sec 1 students and they were already graduating. sze ming used to stand outside the classroom and i would always see him from my classroom since the sec 1s and the sec 4s were on the same level. I used to tink he was really good looking. lolz. aiya anyways i dun tink so now le lah. hahahaa. *bleahz* It was only after I was together wif xiong that I realised he has been wif meixia since their sec sch days. zeze warmed up to him after a while and kept getting him to buy ice cream and drinks. hahaa. anyways ytd was fun! ^_^

Access Card!

I wanna apply for the IACS access card! I'm not Singaporean, so obviously a biometric passport is not an alternative when I wanna zip thru immigration, hence this is a good solution. Still remember that time hubby's friends just fly thru immigration den we still have to queue damn long lor... I keep urging hubby to make his own biometric passport so he wun haf to queue with the rest of the bikers but he's super adamant abt i dunno wad, keep saying waste money...

Anyway I feel quite fortunate to have a Malaysian passport because I can zip thru Malaysian immigration... Then they have to queue damn long lor... Wahahahaaa... *Evil laughter*... Now if I can zip thru both sides, den powderful le! Haa.

Cosmetics!

The other time I was talking to Ping about make-up, and she made me realise maybe I SHOULD make-up a little before going out. Then a few days ago I got this free Maybelline foundation sample in my mailbox... And the mailer was really interesting... Then for some reason I got really hyped up about buying cosmetics...

So... Just now, me and my sisters went cosmetics-shopping!!! So fun. Lolz. Besides the fact that Zeze couldn't get his hands off the foundations' and blushers' testers, hence he got his hands really bright and pinky. Uber funny. My mom took care of him while the 3 of us kept looking at the lip gloss, blushers and stuff... Then the auntie there quite helpful, she helped me get a Maybelline liquid foundation suitable for my skin colour, then a blusher, then a UV base too. Got a free handbag since we spent quite alot on the Maybelline cosmetics. My sis even bought a mascara when she DIDN'T have an eyelash curler. (-_-") Need to get that too! My older cheapskate one is so ineffective lah... Either that or my eyelash really hard to curl or I'm just doing it the wrong way. Dunno... Will try again! Yay! No more 素颜 when I go out le! (Try to lah. Haha.)

Yay! I finally bought the not-so-cheap table lamp! I've had enough with the not-bright-enough living room light and those glaring cheapo table lamps. Bought it from Popular online... Wahahaaa.... No more school! Well... tat's the good part. The bad part is, exams are coming. That's uber sad man. After tat still gotta go work... At least dun haf to bring my work home... But for temp people like us who work few months for the money, it's still okay.

Today we were told that our SSS1207 paper has 60 MCQs for the duration of 2 hours. That's scary. It's like, 2 mins per question. Abit cannot make it, coz confirm will keep referring to textbook. Wootz. What scares me is that the 1st paper is Analytical Chem... Good thing is that one will be off my chest first. Heez.

Hubby is coming back 2nd may... Well tats wad my calendar says lah. By then already 2 papers finish le... Sianz... Nobody here to encourage me... SOBZ...

Wow... What a hectic weekend.

Thursday nite brought Zeze home, den friday brought him to CCK Park to play while we did our sun homework for heavenly maths. He super cute la. He threw sand at hubby, den hubby's side of the face and neck all got sand... Tsk. Zeze also kept washing his legs and sandals at the washing point... Wash till pants all wet. Zhen shi de. After tat had to remain to discuss project, so hubby brought him to westmall to shop.

Saturday morning brought him back to nanny's coz it was moving day. What a tiring day! Try not to move house again le... -_-

Sunday went back to parents' place wif Zeze to gather the rest of my stuff.

Slept here for 2 nights le. Still okay. Went to and fro school frm here. Actually I like this place leh... Mainly because access to lotsa shops and stuff. *yawnz*... So many branded stuff... So many impractical things... So many things not my budget... My budget getting smaller & smaller... Considering i have bigger budgets for some other things... Hehe. I even asked my mom to help me buy free-size 3-for-$10 t-shirts you can find in Boon Lay Shopping Centre. Hahaa... Sho funny... But nice pattern and can wear to school can le, IMO.

After seeing the news, the images (yes I've seen them, but not all of them), 康熙来了，where 小S and 康永 talked about that issue, and the star bloggers' comments, I felt I needed to mention my own opinion. (Not that it'll go far, just to express my own feelings on the matter.)

No.1 - I have no idea what Edison is like, so I can't make comments on his character.

No.2 - There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with taking vids/stills of yourself & ur partner, as long as you do NOT intend to distribute them or show them off in any way. I mean, come on, who doesn't have sex (let's leave the monks & nuns out of this, these are worldly affairs). And some people like shooting themselves in action. What's the surprise in all of this? This is BIG only because they are celebs. (And Tammy was BIG becoz she's a teen student in SG.) I mean, really, who'll want to see pics/vids of normal married commoners off the street right?

No.3 - The only thing I can't really comprehend is, why this many female celebs (and the other gals)? I don't think every one of them was dating him when the pics were taken.

No.4 - The only WRONG thing about the entire issue is the DISTRIBUTOR. The one who leaked the pics/vids. Catch him and attack him instead of Edison. Edison was stupid and careless (and disgusting to indulge in stuff like these with girls you are not in a relationship with, not that the gals were not willing parties), not entirely in the wrong.

I'm not afraid to say that hubby has the exact same fetish, even though not as extreme as Edison's and we rarely keep them. Well, I don't know. To each his own. Just don't be too narrow-minded when you think about it. ^_^ Cheers!

Sony Cybershot T70

Okay. I confess. It wasn't as good as I expected it to be. But to be honest, for an amateur photographer like me who takes photos purely for memories, it works okay.

First of all, how the hell would I know since I'm not into photography or anything. Because I had been furiously shooting pics with my dad's Panasonic Lumix for days on end before I bought the Sony T70. There was little problem with focusing and blurry images and lighting. However when I took pics with the T70, I realised I had to photoshop my photos to up the exposure and sometimes tune the colours. I really have no issues with that. Although sometimes the focusing gets to me abit. Haha.

Actually when I was contemplating the Sony T70 at the Harvey Norman counter, I asked the staff if it was actually better to use those lenses that pop out instead of internal lenses like the ones Sony uses. I was very sure that those that pop out gave better images, ARBO why those big, bulky, black HQ cameras have pop out lenses, right? But NOOOOO.... the idiotic fat guy at the counter told me internal lenses actually better... since they dun pop out hence safer, scarly drop then hit the lenses or what... -_-" Okay so I gave in... Plus the promotion of 2GB cards and the loads of free stuff... Why not?

Aiya actually nvm la... luckily my hands not as vibrato as hubby's, my pics are quite okay. I'm really happy with my new cam. It works well for me. Just for your info only, if you are contemplating a digital cam, that is. ^_^

Yesterday hubby made me go through 1 circuit of his weights exercises. I kept wondering why he sweat so much juz lifting dumbells. I gave up after 1 circuit. He usually does 2 circuits per session. My thighs went really weak after the exercises. If I wanna stand on my knees, usually u'll go down slowly and land on ground with ur knees slowly... But halfway down they were too weak hence u'll juz literally fall and land real hard on your knees. Disgusting. This morning I woke up aching everywhere too. AAhhhh... Must follow hubby from now on le. Too weak. Really too weak.

I have absolutely no idea where's ALL the bad comments coming from. The people who were in the same cinema hall as me were laughing away just as I was. And just now I read somebody's blog he wouldn't waste $8 to watch this show. Yeah. Stereotype. Just because it's a local movie and a Jack Neo one at that. I watched I Not Stupid 2. And it's not even at a cinema, I bought the VCD. And even though I was watching with only my sister... We laugh until stomach pain. Dunno why nowadays people's expectations so high.

Okay, anyway, my sister told me her friend told her that the only funny thing about the entire show was Mark Lee. I agree ah! But if there is no Shao He Gang and the entire cast there for him to make comments on, who the hell would laugh? Furthermore I've never seen Fann Wong act so different before... If you ask me it was a 突破 performance loh. Her acting realli is superb la.

Anyway can go check it out. I find it was worth my $8. ^_^ If you are gonna go watch this with a closed-mind I guarantee you won't find it funny.

Went to Vivo City last Saturday with Han Ze and my family. Met up with my 2 older male cousins. One of my cousins was transitting in Singapore, on the way back to Auckland, so we went to accompany him~~ ^_^

We went to a realli expensive German restaurant where there were alot of angmohs... There was a staff who was angmoh also. Haha... Anyway we ordered 2 platters and 1 pizza... Not full but still okay. Then we went to Häagen-Dazs® for a S$39.90 fondue. Once in a lifetime can le, period. The stuff is definitely not worth S$39.90. My mom has a fondue pot... We can make our own anytime. Following pic not taken by moi... By the time I got there they had started digging in and I couldn't risk losing out... So no time to take pics... Haha... But it's the same thing we ate.

Zeze, as expected, got into a real mess eating this... So luckily I brought along an extra t-shirt for him.

Anyway we were at Jurong Point's Harvey Norman and bought the T70 as a promotion, thanks to reference from Wenqing. ^_^ I absolutely love my new cam... And really will take care of it and take lotsa memories with it... Last but not least... A pic of me & hubby after he had a lonesome basketball match with himself...

The Moon

Took this pic as a try-out attempt at taking shots of the moon for GEK1506. Well this is actually not a direct shot of the moon. If you can see clearly I'm actually shooting the casement window glass... Hence... I'm actually shooting a reflection of the moon. Amazing right? It was around 1am when I took this... Hence the moon was like... Right at the top. Usually when it first rises I'll be able to see it easily right out my window. Took this with my dad's Panasonic Lumix. 5.0 megapixel with 6x zoom. Not bad. Here it is.

It is pronounced Han Zhe, not Han Zi. I've had enough of idiots pronouncing it in ENGLISH. IT'S OBVIOUSLY HANYU PINYIN. Anyway that's not my main point. Introducing... the almost 3-year-old... Zeze!

2nd week of school le~~~ So tiring! Not because everyday got classes, but because in a SINGLE DAY, I have consecutive lectures non-stop from 10am-8pm. So powderful. Wootz~

Well I need to get the texts le, as usual. I already got my "Natural Heritage of Singapore" from the Co-op. Need to get it becoz u can only bring in the text during the open-book tests. After which I'm getting my Inorg Chem text, the one by Sharpe. And then I'll comtemplate whether to get the Ana Chem text, because Physical chem is actually no need text de... IMO.

Anyway just checked the allocated practical slots. All 5 of us allocated the same combination. Good.

Wah just now ah... Hubby cooked scalloped potatoes... It looked like any casserole... Anyway it was disgusting. At first he was going "very nice what", after which he gradually had to agree it was way too sweet, even though he din add any sugar at all. Yucks. I only ate the well-done steak (beef) he cooked plus spinach. Dinner was muuucccchh nicer. [We had bbq sambal stingray~ Reali explosively hot sia~~! Haha~! Hubby was dripping mucus while eating~ He's not a reali good chilli eater wor.. Haha...] Everything inside "[]" is written by hubby when he chanced upon me writing my blog post half-way and added it. Hahahahahaaa...

The other time I was watching old episodes of 娱乐百分百。There was an episode where Kelly Pan was "competing" with Guo Mei Mei. Haha... Both of them quite cute... Anyway I thought I should up an MV or 2 of Kelly's new songs... Those that weren't promoted here in Sg, I think.

I thought 一秒钟的永远 was not bad a song. ^_^

Been watching Initial D lately... All the way till the 4th Stage. Super cool... Makes me so interested in highly-refined driving. (I can't really comprehend the fact that the whole series' activities are ILLEGAL) Anyway I've pretty much made out the cars they are using... Becoz hubby is watching with me... And typical males know many types of cars, obviously... For some reason. Haha. I like those Mitsubishi Lancers, but will never have enough money to get my hands on them. Tsk. I tell u, I got enough money to buy a Kia Picanto/Honda Jazz/Toyota Yaris/Nissan March/Hyundai Getz I already laugh all the way to dunno where le. Tsk. Praying hubby will get his driving license soon and then scrap his bike and get a proper vehicle. (-_-")
